Two of these lamps were designed for veterans who were awarded the Silver Star. Gunnery Sgt. Nicholas "Pops" Popoditch and Master Sgt. Alan F. Johnson. The lamp base is a USN 150mm shell casing 22" tall designed by retired USN Master Chief Tony Johnson, Alan's father. Lamp sections are 14' and the panels illustrate the USMC insignia, the MSgt. and GySgt. Ranking, the tank unit insignia and the silver star.
