 Sandy came to Alaska in 1962 and spent her childhood in bush communities along the Alaska coast. Her artistic talent was apparent early on and expressed through drawing and painting. The affinity for stained glass is a natural extension of her passion for art.
Four years ago, she established her business, custom stained glass, and has rapidly become widely recognized for her one-of-a kind custom pieces. She and her husband, Dick, designed and built an airy spacious art studio located off Scout Lake Road on the Kenai River. There, in addition to designing and crafting custom glass pieces, Sandy offers regular classes in beginning, intermediate, and advanced options which she makes available afternoons, evenings and weekends. Several of her student's work entered in the Alaska State Fair brought home blue ribbon and a Grand Prize.
For the people you are acquainted with who are notoriously difficult to shop for - Sandy offers gift certificates for her classes as well as a wide variety of glass and supplies she carries in stock. For those engaged in the military, Sandy can fashion and design from your unit insignia, rank, award or emblem a truly unique and meaningful gift. Her military pieces have been well received as parting gifts for retiring or transferring service member.
